Mokau Sands

Mokau is a village where time seems to have stood still. The quintessential kiwi beach escape lined with baches and old weatherboard homes. With wide black sand beaches and a beckoning Tasman Sea, little has changed here for decades.
The fishing is still good, the whitebait still run up the Mokau River, the fritters are plate-sized and the locals still have time for a yarn or two.
